Monday was my first day of training for the Worlds End 50k in June. Lets just say it was sub optimal conditions. The weather here in New York has been below freezing almost every day for over a week now. Today was no different. I really did want to capture some sort of footage of my first training run to share with you all though. However it was way to cold to… Read More
I have talked a lot about how my photography often combines with my other passions that become parts of my life over the years. The last few years running has become a huge part of my life and my photography has reflected that. As my experience in running evolves and I develop new goals my running leads me to attempt new photography projects. In the first half of 2018 I will be… Read More
Yesterday I read a tweet by someone that said he would gladly pay someone to write the beginning and ending lines of whatever project he was working on. I responded that I find the opening line of anything I write to be painful to get out. Just like this post. I could overthink and be paralyzed thinking of the best way to open the post. But instead I decided to just start… Read More
Kira came to be part of our family in a funny way. I had been volunteering my time at the Chemung County SPCA to photograph the dogs and cats there that are available for adoption. I love just about all the dogs that I have worked with there. But when I photographed Kira there was just a connection. I went home and posted her photos online and I half-jokingly commented with the… Read More
As a runner one thing that helps me stay motivated and get the training I need to enjoy the races I want to run is setting goals. Sometimes in life you get some bad news and your are not sure it can get any worse. But then to your dismay it gets even worse. Literally twice as bad as it was before. How do things like this happen? Two weeks ago our gentle giant Big Kira was diagnosed with cancer. That hit us like a sucker punch. Totally unexpected. Now we had to take Little Kira to the vet… Read More
Here is a randomly chosen photo from the time lapse series I shot back in July at the Finger Lakes 50’s 25k I ran. Not the smudge on the left side of the frame from the water droplet on the lens. It was a bit wet and rainy that day. Just a little.
I’ve been wanting to share more, but I have been so busy trying to get a bunch of different projects done. So, here is one randomly selected photo from the Ossian Mountain Run at Swain Ski Resort. Many more to share in the future.
One of the reasons I love trail running is that it brings me closer to nature. Trail running gives me another reason to get outside and enjoy nature. Even better trail running encourages me to explore areas I might not otherwise visit. Trail running also allows me to cover more ground in a shorter time than I would be able to on a regular hike, so I see more nature on one… Read More
Here is another photograph from the Kids Fun Run Thursday.
