One photo a day challenge: Day 96. I really wanted to get outside and enjoy the day today after spending the day staring at a computer screen. It’s my birthday and I figured I deserved to get out and enjoy some nature. Not too many hours left in the day after work but we made the best of it. I wanted to drive up to Ithaca and visit the Cornell Botanical Gardens…. Read More

One photo a day challenge: Day 95. It is a beautiful day. I walked around the yard just to see how spring was progressing. Green is emerging from more and more places. Places it has been hidden away for the winter. Hidden for the winter but not hidden forever. Now. Now the green life of spring is making its return. More green. More growth. Life reemerging in even more places. And best… Read More

One photo a day challenge: Day 94. Today I took the day off from just about everything. I just needed to. But fortunately we had great spring weather and I was able to go visit with my family outside for Easter. Beautiful weather. So nice to see veryone. Eating yummy food. Taking photos. Good Day.

One photo a day challenge: Day 93: Today I spent some time at one of our local parks looking for migratory birds to photograph. It is the time of year migratory birds start arriving in and moving through our area in New York. There is a local park right in my home town with a small lake that seems to be a regular stop over for many birds migrating up farther north…. Read More

One photo a day challenge: Day 92. Today I did something a little bit different with my one photo a day challenge. So far the challenge has focused on using my DSLR and Mirrorless cameras to create photography. Today I wanted to expand that to use my other tools I use to create photography. Today I went out on what turned out to be a 17 mile trail run with a friend…. Read More

One photo a day challenge: Day 91. We have been experiencing beautiful early spring weather here in my region of upstate, New York. Then this overnight snowstorm swept through the area. At this point I am pretty much ready to be done with snow. But snow can make for beautiful photography subjects. If there had to be a storm the timing of this one was very fortunate for me. Today was the… Read More

One photo a day challenge: Day 90. One of the challenges of this project so far for me has been thinking of something different to photograph each day. I could go out and photograph the same thing over and over, but that doesn’t inspire me right now. Maybe once spring is in full bloom and things change regularly that would be more of an option. Right now I really want to photograph… Read More

One photo a day challenge: Day 89. Today I decided to try something a little different. With the new spring plants starting to grow. Maybe I was inspired to grow. Take a Chance. Do something different. We have hyacinths growing as spring begins to warm. I decided to try to take a photo of them emerging from the ground. But something different to add to it. I took the photos at night…. Read More

One photo a day challenge: Day 88. Today I stopped at one of our local parks in Elmira, New York on my way home from my commute. There used to be so many old majestic trees along this waterfront area and the park. These days there are so many fewer. I love all the trees that remain. This enormous Sycamore Tree is one of several behemoths still standing in the park. This… Read More

One Photo a Day Challenge: Day 87. I have at least 5 plants that I have successfully overwintered in my basement. If I hadn’t tried to overwinter them in my basement they would have died. I can tell that at least these 5 plants have been successful to this point because they are actively growing new foliage. I just discovered one that I had suspected would survive the overwintering had indeed survived…. Read More
