Taughannock Falls State Park is one of my favorite New York State Parks to photograph. There are a lot of different aspects of this park. It is really easy to overlook something on any given visit. Or you can commit on visit each to an area of the park. Visitor Center Don’t overlook making a stop at the visitor center at this state park. The visitor center was completely rebuilt in recent… Read More
I try to photograph a wide variety of locations. And I try to incorporate a variety of different types of photography into my adventures. Frequently my photography takes me to public parks. Most of the time when I am photographing public parks I try to shoot it in a way that excludes the man made aspects of the park. I like to try to showcase nature most of the time. When I… Read More
Acadia National Park in Maine has been one of my favorite places to visit over the years. There are so many beautiful places to explore in this park. Many of the sights are tourist attractions that are visited by large numbers of people. Those spots are great. But one of my favorite places in the park is a small little beachfront where I have seldom seen many people. Little Hunters Beach is… Read More

Today we spent the afternoon down at the lake at Higley Flow State Park. The lake here is apparently connected to a large system of waterways. This large system of waterways appears to have its own tidal system. The water levels were different this afternoon than they were this morning. This exposed rocks, and tree limbs, and sand that previously was under water. It is nice to have scenery that will vary… Read More
One photo a day challenge: Day 127. Today I returned to a spot I photographed for this project earlier in the year. I wanted to return today because previously the trees had no leaves. Now it is early spring and the leaves are starting to bud on trees. I really like the more subtle shades of green that are present as a trees leaves are just starting to unfurl. If I went… Read More
One photo a day challenge: Day 88. Today I stopped at one of our local parks in Elmira, New York on my way home from my commute. There used to be so many old majestic trees along this waterfront area and the park. These days there are so many fewer. I love all the trees that remain. This enormous Sycamore Tree is one of several behemoths still standing in the park. This… Read More

One photo a day challenge: Day 70. For today’s daily photos I went to one of our local parks. I spend a lot of time creating photography at Eldridge Park in Elmira, New York. Mostly what I do is photograph the local wildlife at the park. Today I wanted to shift gears and try to photograph the landscape there. The main reason that I don’t photograph the landscapes there is because the… Read More
