One photo a day challenge: Day 295. I was looking for some fall colors. Unfortunately the colors around my area right now are kinda drab. It is actually hard to find bright yellow, oranges, and reds on the trees or even on the ground. But I did find some cool bright colors. Be open to something other than what you are looking for in photogrpahy. It is all out there if you… Read More

One photo a day challenge: Day 293. Today I wanted to do some macro photography. I wanted to find something with a seasonal look to photograph. I heard something rustling off in the woods. The sound drew me out to investigate. Never did see whatever was making all the noise. But I was drawn into the multitude of sights along the forest floor. I started looking for interesting leaves to photograph. It… Read More

One photo a day challenge: Day 292. I like the challenge of taking a relatively common item and photographing it so close up that is almost become completely abstract. Photograph an object in a way that it becomes almost unrecognizable as what it really is. I am trying to photograph items that might seem common or boring in a way that they become interesting once again. Trying to bring new life to… Read More

One photo a day challenge: Day 291. This time of year presents opportunities to photograph all sort of interesting things. There are lots of nature related items that are commonly used for decorations in the fall. I recently picked up several items to experiment with for my photography. I just never committed to do it. That is until today. I love the Ornamental Corn. I really like the corn cobs that have… Read More

One photo a day challenge: Day 285. Wandering through the woods. Silently observing. Looking for an interesting fall scene. Leaves and trees. Some still up high some scattered on the ground. Leaves and trees alike. Tattered and torn. From one life cycle to the next.

One photo a day challenge: Day 280. Something a little different today. Went with my small super portable set up today. Used my small Joby tripod. 20 mm lens on the Sony Alpha mirrorless camera body. Walked down to a small stream. Captured some images with longer exposures ranging from .4 seconds to 1 second. I was really trying to capture some of the color of the leaves in the stream. But… Read More

I’ve been wanting to do more evening and sunset photography. Recently I headed to Tanglewood Nature Center to see if I could capture some sunset and evening images.

Today was a great day. I spent the day doing something I love with the woman that I love. My wife and I spent the day hiking around some of my favorite places. We took a lot of photographs. Our dog Brynn also came along for the adventure.

As I have begun creating more and more photography and media while out trail running there is always this thought in the back of my mind, what if I trip or fall while I am out there running with my camera? I love combining my love of photography with my love of running, however I wonder if it might be hazardous to my equipment or to myself to do so. Part of… Read More

I spent some time volunteering with the Southern Tier Running Club‘s youth club SOAR at their monthly kids fun run providing photography. It is always nice to see all the kids, parents, coaches, and SOAR athletes that come out for these fun community events. Enjoy the photos.
