I love trail running. I run mostly trail races. But most of my running miles are logged on roads. Roads are just more convenient and make sure I am at least getting some miles. Last year I logged fewer miles in general and probably a lot l fewer than years past miles on trails. I was battling injuries most of the year so my running had to be really conservative. Trying to… Read More

New trails are almost always the best trails. This is never more true for me than in this year. On my quest to do a lot of new to me running I have been fortunate enough to log so many miles in places I have not run or raced before. I have been wanting to run the FLRC trail circuit for years. But year after year a commitment to a race I… Read More

One of my favorite activities is running. Running brings me a lot of joy and satisfaction. One of the ways I keep the good time rolling with my running is by finding new things in running to do. This year I have been jumping into a lot of the things the Finger Lakes Running Club has going on. One of the cool new things happening at the Finger Lakes Running Club is… Read More

I don’t run a lot of road races, but I like to run a half marathon each year. For me the half marathon is the perfect distance on the road. It really hits the sweet spot. Just the right amount of challenge no matter how you are approaching it. Apparently Skunk Cabbage Classic by the Finger Lakes Running Club has become my annual tradition. It is not a particularly easy course and… Read More

Live racing is always fun. It was a lot of fun to photograph this event. I love seeing all the runners enjoying time out on the roads. People pushing themselves. Families and friends running together. People smiling and even people looking determined to finish. There are all great things about running. You can follow the link below to Facebook gallery I have created. Feel free to share the photos with your friends…. Read More

One photo a day challenge: Day 261. Today was a beautiful day for a race. The Southern Tier Running Club was hosting a local 5k and 10k. The race was right in my neighborhood. Perfect opportunity for some race photography. Here is one sample from the day. First male out of the gate. Check back soon for more photos from the race.

I have been working more on my overall fitness of late, but my running has been taking more of a back seat than it has in the past. I probably have not run nearly as much as I have in winters past. Especially considering 2 of the past 4 years I have been training for ultras in the spring. Last year I was training for a half marathon PR. This year I… Read More

It is always nice to be able to check one of your running goals of the list for the year. I was able to check off one of my running goals for 2019 at my first race of the year. So that is obviously a great way to start of the racing season. I ran the 2019 Skunk Cabbage Classic hosted by the Finger Lakes Running Club . My goal was to… Read More

Facebook memories reminded me that nine years ago 3/27/2010 I had my first pieces of artwork on display in an art gallery. That was the opening of a door to things I never imagined. Those photographs would be on display in the Artisan’s Shoppe in Wellsboro, PA. It is quite amazing that on that same day nine days later another door would open to me and an opportunity to take on something… Read More
