One photo a day challenge: Day 205. Today was a fun day with lots of time spent out on the trails. First I photographed the Run For The Hills 5k and 10k at Tanglewood Nature Center. Then I went for a 10 mile trail run of my own on the trails at Tanglewood. I love being out on the trails creating photography. It is so much fun to see all the participants… Read More

One photo a day challenge: Day 204. It was a beautiful sunny day today. Not too hot. Not too cold. Seemed like a great day to go outside with the dogs. Hang out and enjoy the day for a bit. Take the camera outside. Take a few photos. A perfect opportunity to capture some dog portraits. When we have dogs in out lives it is very easy to find the inspiration for… Read More

One photo a day challenge: Day 203. Recently I have been thinking that it seems like I haven’t seen many pollinators around our flowers at our house. It feels like normally this time of year they are everywhere. We plant quite a few flowers. Both perennials and annuals. We also have a large section of our yard that is left wild and is full of wildflowers. Normally there is a constant buzz… Read More

One photo a day challenge: Day 202. Tonight I went outside tonight to photograph some flowers in the low light. I had an idea of what flowers I wanted to photograph. There were a few I hadn’t photographed at night much if at all. The goal was to focus on those ones. Other than that I wasn’t really sure how I was going to proceed. Look through the lens and let the… Read More

One phot a day challenge: Day 201. I am really excited about this photograph. Not because it is some amazing photograph or anything like that. I am excited about what this photograph represents. This photograph represents trying and failing. And trying again, and again until there is progress and then hopefully success. If there is something you want to accomplish, there is only one way to make it happen. Keep trying until… Read More

One photo a day challenge: Day 200. Sometimes we are fortunate enough to be able to photograph subjects we weren’t expecting. It is a great feeling to have the opportunity to be able to create beautiful images of subjects we weren’t even looking for. I am not often presented with the opportunity to photograph snakes. But it is always nice when such opportunities turn out so nicely.

One photo a day challenge: Day 199. Today was a good day for pet portraits. It is nice to relax at home and see what one of our pets is cooperative enough for some portraits. The dogs did not want to have anything to do with my photographs. One cat wouldn’t sit still for photos. The other cat was hiding somewhere. But Paisley was sitting in the middle of the coffee table…. Read More

One photo a day challenge: Day 198. Today was a long day with a lot of driving involved throughout the morning. We tried to squeeze in some fun on our way home though. We stopped at the Cornell Botanic Gardens. One of my favorite places. Seriously, there are not many better places to go if you want to practice a wide variety of photography. There was a lot of time spent driving… Read More

One phot a day challenge: Day 197. A little more rain. A few more flower photos. More rain drops. Water on petals. Flowers dripping with water. Seems abnormally wet for the time of year. But at least its helping mew create nice flower photos.

One photo a day challenge: Day 196. With all the rain lately it seems like the growth rate of plants has kicked into overdrive. I often focus on photographing flowers and trees when I am outdoors. However, Right now it is the time of the Fun Gi. Get it, Fungi. Yeah I know, terrible joke. But Seriously there are mushrooms growing all over my yard right now. I photographed at least 4… Read More
