One photo a day challenge: Day 59. I can’t believe that this closes out two straight months I have been doing this project now. I don’t know where this will take me but I am really enjoying the process. Sometimes you can try to make the photo happen. But sometimes the best photos happen when you just let the subject do what comes natural. Peaches is a very friendly cat. She always… Read More
Daily photo challenge: Day 11. I often photograph my dogs. I do not photograph our cats. Often I regret not having many photos of our cats. If I had to choose I would choose dogs every time. But I don’t dislike cats and, don’t tell my wife, but I do have fond memories of them. It goes without saying that cats are just vastly different beings than dogs. Capturing their lives on… Read More
Gunner was such a fun dog. He was a former resident of the Chemung County SPCA back in October of 2016.
I was able to get outside and take a few photographs of our new foster dog Sammy. I also found the below about why we rescue dogs. I didn’t write it and there was no citation to it.

The more I develop myself over the years the more I learn that things I love and that are important to me fit together. I have been a long time dog lover. And over the last few years I have become an increasingly avid runner. I have been making more time to run than to do most other things in my life these days. I never thought I would say that. As… Read More

Today my father invited me to go down to the Chemung River with him and his dog Sparky and hang out. I always enjoy a chance to hang out with my dad. Things only get better when you add the opportunity to be out in nature and to be around a dog.
Jethro carried around this toy almost the entire time I photographed him back in April of 2014. He was such a fun and loving dog. I really enjoyed creating great images with him. I am currently working on a project to help bring more awareness to the amazing work the Chemung County SPCA does. The project will consist of an art exhibit, on display at the Chemung County Historical Society, featuring photographs… Read More
I loved my time photographing this old man dog, Luke, back in 2014. He was such a joy. It is great to see it when an older dog still has the spark. This is some of the great work the Chemung County SPCA does. They make sure older dogs like Luke have a home to live out the rest of their years the way it should be. I am currently working… Read More
This is Troy. Who wouldn’t want to bring home this big slobbery guy. Look at him slinging the slobber after playing in the pool. He is a bundle of energy and would need lots of exercise. Go visit him at the Chemung County SPCA if you want someone to play with. Visit my project Shelter Dogs at the Museum for an opportunity to support a unique art exhibit with the goal of raising… Read More

Bear was a fairly animated dog when I spent time with him to photograph him. He was very curious about just about everything. He spent the whole time outside exploring the large enclosure. Bear investigated all the smells. Bear spent a fair amount of time looking out of the enclosure staring at things that he found interesting. Bear also became very interested in sounds. Whenever he heard a noise he would look… Read More
