One Photo A Day: Day 9. Today I knew we would be heading to Ithaca to take our dog to the vet. I planned to stop and create some images while we were in Ithaca. Sometimes things don’t go as you had hoped. You get worse news than you expected. Then you don’t feel like following through with your plans. But you do the work. You continue the practice. Because this is… Read More

The other day I was out creating some photography. My goal for the day was flower and macro photography with some scenic shots mixed in. I used four different cameras over the course of the day. One of which came in handy in a way I was not expecting. When I set out to take photographs and I have a goal in mind, I take the gear I need to create those… Read More

My photography tends to vacillate greatly between very planned photography where I have a subject and location that I will be photographing to basically what I would call adventure photography. Adventure photography is more like I get out in nature and enjoy myself and photograph whatever strikes me creatively or inspires me. Maybe I am exploring a new place and I want to be open to all possibilities. One thing I try… Read More

I was recently in the Ithaca area getting some trail running in. Post run I went to Buttermilk falls to relax and do some writing. Then I decided what better way to cap off the days trip than to hike down into the gorge and photograph one of my favorite natural places. My knees did not enjoy this post run decision, but I took my time and enjoyed myself and captured some… Read More

I have been writing a lot about my trail running experiences. I hope you aren’t getting sick of it because it seems to be a growing trend, especially as I explore new trails. I’ve written about how trail running has allowed me to and encouraged me to explore so much more of the natural world that I love so much. Today was no different. Without running, but hiking instead the amount of… Read More

I was sitting at the lake doing some writing and I heard osprey calling off in the distance. I looked around but didn’t see anything. Eventually I saw this osprey perched in a tree across the park. I was able to walk over and capture a series of photos of the osprey perched and then as the osprey took took off and flew away over the trees. The photographs are nice and… Read More

Today was a day for the dogs. Up in Ithaca the Ithaca Dog Fest was going on. That means that the Reynolds clan is headed to Ithaca to enjoy some 4 legged companionship. The event did not disappoint. We took Josie and Little Kira with us on this outing. We had such a good time. There were many dog related vendors there. There were also many different Shelters and Rescue groups there… Read More

I wanted to share a little bit from our experiences on our #OptOutside not #BlackFriday day after Thanksgiving. My wife and I took one of our dogs, Brynn, up to Ithaca for a hike and a visit to the wonderful dog park they have there. This is a series of photos of Brynn trying to chase down a ball someone threw at the dog park. She always puts in full effort but… Read More
