I grew up always being into sports. I loved sports. Loved to play sports, watch sports, talk about sports, and learn about sports. Guess what, I love photographing sports too. As has been the course through my photography experiences throughout my life photography has lead me to more knowledge. In this case photographing rugby has lead me to learn more about rugby. Rugby is a sport I wasn’t very familiar with and… Read More

If you grow up as a football fan one of the coolest photography experiences you can have is being on the field photographing a football game. It is fun to see if your instincts and anticipation for the sport allows you to capture good photos or if you are off the mark. I love sports of all types. I really enjoy watching people perform feats of athleticism. Being able to capture these… Read More

I love that our local college softball team plays at a park where I am often at taking photos of other subjects This has allowed me to photograph softball gamers kind of on the spur of the moment. It has also allowed me to capture some cool wildlife photos while I am photographing a softball game. My goal is to make some more intentional time to photograph our local college softball team… Read More

One of the most fun ways to create photography is at local sports events. If you have any local sports in your area take your camera with you and cerate art. You don’t have to be down on the field. Sitting in the bleachers can create some nice images like this one. Go out on the town and watch the high school, college, semi pro, or pro teams pay and photograph them…. Read More

As we are becoming more aware of the potential health impacts of the Corona Virus it is becoming clear that we will have to adapt and change our behaviors and out lifestyles to some degree for the benefit of society as a whole. I big part of that is the cancelling of events and gatherings. I know many of us plan our lives around going to things or doing things that involve… Read More

Round and round they go. When they’ll stop, nobody knows. I have been fortunate to be involved with quite a few races over the last several years. Some as a volunteer. Some as a runner. Some as a photographer. Sometimes I’ve been involved in more than one way at a given race. My good friends were putting on a race to help support our local youth running club, SOAR. I wanted to… Read More

I was fortunate enough to have an opportunity to watch our local Corning Rugby Boys and and Girls teams play again. I was happy to have captured what I think are some really nice action sequences. This sequence was a nice extended sequence with the Corning Rugby Girls in possession and making several passes.

All the how should we remember Joe Paterno discussion is getting a little old. It is simple. You remember the whole story. You celebrate the great man he was and all his good works. But you also remember that despite all that he was just a man. And as a man he was falable as we all are, and he made mistakes. So don’t rush to put men on pedastals as we… Read More

I just read a report that Michael Vick won the Subway-sponsored BET Sportsman of the Year award. He also signed a new endorsement deal with Nike. Michael Vick is a convicted criminal yet he is being given awards and endorsement deals. He was found guilty of crimes and went to prison. Not the least of his crimes was killing defenseless animals. Just a quick comparison. Tiger Woods was a much greater player… Read More

I am diverting my posts from my normal subjects to a matter that is very important to me and perhaps more important than photography. This is an issue that I am conflicted about. I am a passionate dog and animal lover and I despise animal cruelty. It makes my stomach turn. Michael Vick committed heinous crimes against helpless animals. However, he was tried, convicted, and sentenced for what he did. He served… Read More
