I really appreciate having place so close to home where I can go and just enjoy some scenic nature views. Tanglewood Nature Center has been a valuable resource for me to find peace and relaxation in nature. Help support Tanglewood by running the Run For The Hills! challenge on the Red Trail at Tanglewood or donate to support Ben’s Long Run to help raise money to support Tanglewood.

I’ve been wanting to do more evening and sunset photography. Recently I headed to Tanglewood Nature Center to see if I could capture some sunset and evening images.

Tanglewood Nature Center is one of my favorite places to get out and experience nature. I first ran the trails there when my brother, a few friends and I decided to take on a mud run. I ran my first ever trail race on the trails of Tanglewood. That was the first step to developing the passion for trail running I share with so many now.

I was on social media as one is and I stumbled across a post about Run for The Hills! I was excited to see this fun event scheduled to take place at one of my favorite places. And on one of my favorite trails. Tanglewood Nature Center. I have been hoping something would pop up specifically featuring the Red Trail at Tanglewood. It is my favorite trail there and I run it… Read More

After a day of driving around visiting multiple sites we wanted to spend the entire day all at one place. We decided to spend the day at Taughannock Falls State Park. If you are not familiar with Taughannock Falls State Park its most well-known feature is its namesake, Taughannock Falls which plunges 215 feet past rocky cliffs that tower nearly 400 feet above the gorge.

My photography tends to vacillate greatly between very planned photography where I have a subject and location that I will be photographing to basically what I would call adventure photography. Adventure photography is more like I get out in nature and enjoy myself and photograph whatever strikes me creatively or inspires me. Maybe I am exploring a new place and I want to be open to all possibilities. One thing I try… Read More

As and artists and creative person it is very easy to fall into the trap of thinking of photography as something that has to be very intentional and planned out. I am a photographer. I must have a designated subject, location, event, etc. that I want to photograph. That is great and sometimes it works out perfectly. But what is even better than that is to always be prepared. Great opportunities for… Read More

I love nature. I enjoy nature in a wide variety of ways. One activity I really enjoy is watching birds. As someone whose always loved animals and been a science nerd simply observing bird behavior is endlessly fascinating and entertaining. As a photographer, creating photography of birds is enjoyable and challenging. More so than any other animal birds have the ability to appear one second and be gone the next. That lends… Read More

I think one area where we all struggle is in appreciating what is right in front of us. I think this especially applies to our home towns, local communities, and regions where we are from and spend most of our time. There are always people looking to throw shade on your home town and focus on the negative and dismiss the positive. Don’t let those people bring you down. Don’t let them… Read More

One of my favorite things in life has become working on art projects with my dad. We do different types of art, I’m a photographer and he’s a painter, so we don’t really work together so much but we show each other our work and talk about things we like about each other’s work. From time to time one of us will have an art exhibit and we often help each other… Read More
