One photo a day challenge: Day 234. When I photograph dogs at a dog show I am usually focusing on their movement. I like to capture moments in time as the dogs move across the show ring. I like seeing how they move. How they express themselves in the ring. Photographing their behavior during the show is always fun. Dogs are amazing creatures and capturing phots of them performing at their best… Read More
One photo a day challenge: Day 231. In case you haven’t noticed by my photography here, I love dogs. Dogs are the best. I absolutely love sharing my life with dogs. Lots of people fall in love with a breed of dog. They then spend their lives living with dogs of that breed. In our house we have fallen in love with Bernese Mountain Dogs. But does anyone else find themselves falling… Read More
One photo a day challenge: Day 191. Today I just went out into the yard with my camera and my dogs. I didn’t really have a plan for what exactly I wanted to photograph or how I would go about taking the photographs. I knew I would like to get at least a few photos of our dogs because it had been awhile since I had been outside with them to play… Read More
Brynn has been such an active and energetic dog through most of her life. Now she is facing health challenges that are limiting her mobility. She has loved camping with us. During two different trips she has enjoyed hiking and exploring. She ahs accompanied us as we hiked up mountains. Now that she can’t get around like she use to it makes us a little sad. But we still wanted to take… Read More
One photo a day challenge: Day 150. It’s late. Getting tired. Must be time for bed. Time for dogs to go lie in bed. Going to sleep now. Have a nice night.
One photo a day challenge: Day 105. I thought I knew exactly what I was going to do for my photographs today. Our white husky, Mojo, had spent a lot of the day outside in the rain. I wanted to photograph his damp, muddy, and stinky self and talk about how much he loves the rain. But, Colton had other ideas. I called Mojo down to the bedroom so I could photograph… Read More
One photo a day challenge: Day 77. Comet is such a good dog…..for us. Comet is our long term foster dog through a local rescue. He really is a good boy. However, he has some behavioral challenges. Comet doesn’t get as much love on the socials or in photos because of the way we have to manage his behavior issues. He doesn’t really love most of our other dogs and cats. Even… Read More
One photo a day challenge: Day 63. Something I always struggle with in my photography is the conflict between trying to photograph something new and returning to the familiar. Should I look for new things to photograph or stick with things that I love? There are so many things I love in life. I always want to photograph these familiar loves. I know what to expect and they bring me peace and… Read More
One photo a day challenge: Day 47. Another day of relentless winter weather here in upstate, NY. I couldn’t leave the house to go anywhere for photos. Trudging through the snow and ice with a camera didn’t feel inspiring today. I decided to just sit around the house with my camera out and ready and one of my lights out to light the scene. I thought this would be a good way… Read More
One photo a day challenge: Day 41. Today I decided to get back to one of my favorite subjects, my dogs. I could photograph my dogs all day every day. I love them. They also make great photography subjects for a variety of reasons. They are interesting, funny, and adorable. And most of the time they cooperate for me. No having to search out subjects or wait for the weather to be… Read More
