When I set out to take photos for a day I really like it if I can find a place where I can take a variety of different types of photographs all in one location. I love waterfalls and if I go to a place with waterfalls that is all I will probably photograph. So I need to go somewhere a little bit different. Someplace with a lot of space to move… Read More
“Our children should learn the general framework of their government, and then they should know where they come in contact with the government, where it touches their daily lives and where their influence is exerted on the government. It must not be a distant thing, someone else’s business, but they must see how every cog in the wheel of a democracy is important and bears its share of responsibility for the smooth… Read More
“He enumerated the objections against an equality of votes in the second branch, notwithstanding the proportional representation in the first. The minority could negative the will of the majority of the people. They could extort measures by making them a condition of their assent to other necessary measures. They could obtrude measures on the majority by virtue of the peculiar powers which would be vested in the Senate. The evil instead of… Read More
“I see in the near future a crisis approaching that unnerves me and causes me to tremble for the safety of my country. As a result of the war, corporations have been enthroned and an era of corruption in high places will follow, and the money power of the country will endeavor to prolong its reign by working upon the prejudices of the people until all wealth is aggregated in a few… Read More
“It has long, however, been my opinion, and I have never shrunk from its expression … that the germ of dissolution of our federal government is in the constitution of the federal judiciary; … working like gravity by night and by day, gaining a little today and a little tomorrow, and advancing its noiseless step like a thief, over the field of jurisdiction, until all shall be usurped.” – Thomas Jefferson, letter… Read More
I love waterfalls. I enjoy photographing waterfalls of all shapes and sizes. Giant falls down to a tiny trickle. Enormous drops of 200+ feet or just a few inches. Spring, summer, and fall all pose great times for waterfall photography. But what about winter? Cold. Dreary. Frozen. Winter.
“Although the job of a Congressman involves several different roles, the main ones are as representative and legislator. As a representative, a member serves as an agent for his constituents, ensuring that their views are heard in Congress and that they are treated fairly by federal bureaucrats and other public officials. As a legislator, a member participates in the lawmaking process by drafting bills and amendments, engaging in debate, and attempting to… Read More
I love to photograph water. Particularly bodies of water in landscapes. More specifically water that moves through a landscape. It doesn’t have to be a huge flowing river, or a massive waterfall. Even a small trickle over some rocks can draw my attention. And the more opportunities for different photos there are the better. This is why creeks and streams are so amazing. They are abundant. And the landscapes around them can… Read More
I really don’t like shopping. I generally try to avoid it. But on a recent vacation I did buy some clothes. Turns out it did not all fit me. The closest location to return the clothes is 2 hours away from me in Rochester, New York. So, how to justify a 2 hour drive to return clothes that don’t fit? Photography for the win. I have a guide book for waterfalls in… Read More
I am fortunate to live in an area that features an abundance of waterfalls. And I have become increasingly drawn too photographing waterfalls over the years. It is hard to think about what would be my favorite waterfall. Every waterfall is so unique. And every waterfall changes so much depending on when you visit. But the presentation and environment surrounding the waterfall contributes to how it makes me feel. Watkins Glen State… Read More
