One Photo a Day Challenge: Day 87. I have at least 5 plants that I have successfully overwintered in my basement. If I hadn’t tried to overwinter them in my basement they would have died. I can tell that at least these 5 plants have been successful to this point because they are actively growing new foliage. Day 2 of my one phot a day challenge for the month of January. For todays photo I utilized a couple of things that I made sure to have just for occasions where I wanted to create some photography indoors during the winter especially. Spring always brings a great variety of photographic opportunities. I always enjoy photographing spring flowers as they begin to bloom. Spring has only recently arrived on the calendar and even more recently has it finally begun to feel like Spring here in upstate, NY. Where we live is at a slightly higher elevation than most of the surrounding area so Spring arrives even later at my house.

As a wildlife and nature photographer sometimes what you plan to do and what you actually end up doing are two very different things. As a wildlife and nature photographer I am very dependant on two things the weather and the wildlife itself. These two factors can be researched, studied, and planned for but I will never be fully in control of them.
