I love to get out into nature. Often when I plan to go outside there is a specific reason. I want to photograph a waterfall. Or I want to hike some trails. And some places are great for specific experiences. But what really can make a place special is if it is a haven of a wide variety of natural experiences. This is what I love about Tanglewood Nature Center.

I often like to spend time photogrpahing things that might be considered ordanary. Parts of life that seem mundane. Something that is just normal. Take that thing and shine a light on it. Stop and look more closely. See it for what it is. Don’t just ignore it. This is what I think of when I think of the often Maligned Whited Tailed Deer.

My wife and I were able to get out for a nice trip up to one of my favorite birding spots, Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge. We usually expect to see a lot of Osprey and Bald Eagles on our trips there, but they stayed away for the most part. We could see Osprey flying high in the sky off in the distance, but they never came close for good looks or photographs.
