The Bullmastiff is a large strong muscular looking dog. Not the largest or heaviest of the large breed dogs, but they might be the biggest bang for your buck. The Bullmastiff has a thick sturdy frame. And that frame is packed thick with muscles. As large as they are they still manage to look graceful. Look at this photo of a Bullmastiff trotting across the show ring. As the Bullmastiff is moveing… Read More

The Bulldog. I don’t really know what else to say. I think for most people when you see or hear the word Bulldog an image instantly pops into your head. Short stocky legs. Thick strong bodies. Large heads. Wrinkled faces. Big Mouths. All Jowls. Most dogs the height of a Bulldog do not have the thick bodies and legs they have. Short dogs are usually more petite. Not sure anyone is just… Read More

The Brussels Griffon is a toy breed of dog. They are quite small. Weighing in at the 8-10 lb. range. That is smaller than cats I have had. Their wiry coat gives the Brussels Griffon a distinct look to match its personality. The way the wiry hair protrudes from its face is definitely a look. One thing I enjoy about photographing smaller breeds of dogs is that it can be easier to… Read More

The Brittany is a medium sized high energy sporting type dog. They generally have a pretty consistent look to them. The Brittany’s fur is mostly white with patches of brown. The brown color can come in different shades. Check out this little Brittany with their tong just barely sticking out. Photo details: Nikon D300S. Nikon 300mm f/4. Focal length 420mm. ISO 400. 1/640 sec. f/5.6.

Long haired dogs always look so amazing. The Briard beautifully groomed to show itself off during the dog show. I love to look at these dogs but I would not be the ideal owner for a long haired dog. I do not have the attention to detail, patience and consistency required to keep the beautiful long hair of the Briard groomed properly. One of the things I enjoy most about watching these… Read More

The Boxer is probably one of the more familiar breeds of dogs to be found at a dog show. The Boxer being a pretty distinct looking dog is one that would probably be recognized by many dog lovers who are not as obsessed with attending dog shows as I am. Medium to large sized dogs they have a strong muscular look to them. The Boxer has a more typically seen look as… Read More

The Boston Terrier is a pretty small dog. Although small the Boston Terrier does seem to have a pretty well proportioned body. The only feature other than its size that sets the Boston Terrier apart from many other dog breeds is how its nose is mostly flat and smooshed in against the front of its face. I love watching dogs run agility courses. Agility competition is even more interesting when there is… Read More

A Borzoi is a pretty cool looking breed of dog. Long lanky legs. Thin body. Long Narrow snout. When looking at a Borzoi head on they seem unusually narrow bodied. The only aspect that flows against the narrowness of the dogs overall proportions is the dogs fur. The Borzoi has a nice fluffy coat across its torso. The legs sport tufts of hair flowing off the back of the legs. And the… Read More

The Border Terrier is a small short haired dog. They have a short wire haired coat. Then on the face there are tufts of fur that form more of a longer beard and mustache type look around the snout. Border Terriers always look happy. Having fun trotting around the dog show ring. This photo shows a Border Terrier looking happy with their mouth open as they trot across the show ring for… Read More

Border Collies are a breed of dog I love mainly based on watching them perform in the agility ring. They are probably one of the few dog breeds that I have more photographs of while competing in agility than while in the conformation ring. Border Collies are quite amazing at agility. Seeing the Border Collies who have been training and working in agility for a long time speed through a flawless round… Read More
