I love photographing trees because of all the variety of texture. Winter adds an extra element of texture. I have a love hate relationship with winter. I really don’t mind cold weather as long as it isn’t extreme bitter cold. Putting on some warm clothes and heading outside for an adventure or just some fresh air is a nice experience for me. Especially if I have something to point my camera at.

Spring recently arrived in upstate New York. And I always look forward to the new growth of spring. But here in this region of New York one never knows what the weather may bring. The date on the calendar is almost irrelevant.

Weather here in upstate New York is fickle. It is especially so during winter. One of the nicest places to hike in the winter is Taughannock Falls State Park. The park features a 1 mile trail that is pretty level and relatively easy to navigate even in the snow.
