On what should be the hopeful beginning of spring. The time when things begin to grow. It only took two days for winter to remind us that she wasn’t done with us yet.

I was out for a hike with a friend on the day that winter returned to us. Hiking through cold wind and snow. It was a fun hike. And the weather inspired me to create some photography.

Our winter in this part of New York was unseasonably warm. There really wasn’t mush snow on the ground for most of the season.

So, now I was happy to get the opportunity to photograph some winter scenery. And this was the perfect type of snow was perfect for some photography. The snow was hard light and sticky.

The snow was coating every surface. But the snow was in a thin enough layer that the details were still visible on the surface.
