Migration Rest Stop | Canvasback | New York

The best way to see birds that are not often seen in your area is to look for them during migration.

Many birds that are not yearlong residents or even seasonal residents of an area can be seen when they stop over as they migrate north in the summer or back south in the winter.

I love the subtle color of this female Canvasback.

I was able to see this Canvasback during migration.

It stopped over at one of our local parks.

This Canvasback was just swimming out on the pond.
