Breed Show Ring | Newfoundland | New York
The Newfoundland.
Mostly I photograph dogs at dog shows close up. Trying to isolate the dogs alone in the photo.
Sometimes I do like to capture images of dogs and their handlers. For this image I was in the right place to be able to photograph the lineup as the show judge was pulling out his favorites for a short list at the breed ring where the Newfoundland dogs were exhibiting.
I had the perfect opportunity to photograph a group of handlers and their beautiful Newfoundland dogs all in a row together.
I also had the right equipment at the time to do so. I don’t always have a lens with a wide enough angle of view to be able to capture this image when I am photographing a dog show. Fortunately at this time I had my Nikon 70-200mm lens and I could zoom all the way out to 70mm.
