I have always liked Labrador Retriever type dogs. The Chesapeake Bay Retriever is so reminiscent of that type of dog. Except they have this extra.

I remember the first time I saw a Chesapeake Bay Retriever. It wasn’t even at a dog show. Chesapeake Bay Retrievers were part of some exhibit or something that was happening at our county fair.

I think I fell in love with them right there.

There is something about that thick wavy fur. And the color of the fur. They are just a bit extra. Not quite regular.

Then combine that with their eyes. Chesapeake Bay Retrievers have some of the most beautiful eyes. They will just put you right into a trance.

Without having any particularly distinct features the Chesapeake Bay Retriever is instantly memorable.
