A Moment Of Rest | Australian Cattle Dog | New York

Australian Cattle Dogs are such cool looking dogs. They seem to have just a unique blend of characteristics.

Thick medium length fur. An awesome speckled to merle coloration. But it seems to only come in two varieties that I have seen. The blue merle like color pictured below and a red color.

They have pointy attentive ears. A thick rounded snout. And at the other end a pretty unique looking tail. A tail that looks thick and fury but it is almost always lighter or whit moving towards the tip. It is like a fade out of the color.

Active high energy dogs that seem like they would be lots of fun to play with.

I like this capture of an energetic breed of dog competing in a high energy sport. A sport that is fast moving. And here I am capturing the one moment of rest. Stillness. Waiting. A tough moment for some dogs, but this Australian Cattle Dog masters it.
