Curled Around Leaf | Monarch Butterfly Caterpillar | New York
I mostly manage to miss out on opportunities to photograph caterpillars.
They are not a subject I often think about intentionally planning to photograph.
I even often manage to miss out on photographing the most predictable to find caterpillar, the Monarch Butterfly Caterpillar.
Monarch Butterfly Caterpillars are found in fairly specific time of year. This makes it easier to know when to look for them.
The next question is where to look for Monarch Butterfly Caterpillar. This too is fairly straight forward.
Monarch Butterfly Caterpillars can be found on Milkweed plants.
Recently I have been having more success photographing these caterpillars.
One huge factor in that is that I have finally been able to achieve a goal of having Milkweed grow in my yard.
This allowed me to check regularly for Monarch Butterfly Caterpillars on the plants. And I did find and photograph some.
Hopefully these plants continue to grow and new Milkweed I have planted will return next year.
This will increase my chances of photographing more Monarch Butterfly Caterpillars.
