My Favorite Fall Colors: Letchworth State Park

If there is any time of year that is my favorite it is probably when we have the changing colors of fall. That burst of color livens up the environment like no other. It enhances every aspect of being outdoors and I love it for my creativity and photography.

The biggest challenge is that that time of year most closely associated with the fall season does not last the entire season. It is only a fraction of that time. And it feels like it becomes increasingly fleeting year after year.

I am always looking to get out and enjoy the fall colors more and more and I feel like I fail every year. I especially like to create as much photography around this time of year as I can. Th best way to do that is to go someplace with lots of opportunities.

Letchworth State Park is my favorite place to photograph fall colors. There are just so many diverse opportunities at this park. Almost any type of fall scene you want to see or capture Edith your camera, Letchworth has it.

If you love waterfalls you can find beautiful waterfalls surrounded by vibrant fall colors. There are the three main waterfalls and other smaller opportunities at this park. All hold unique scenic opportunities.

Is hiking your thing. There are miles and miles of trails to wander. They will take you through a variety of landscapes. There you will be surrounded by colorful leaves that may be raining down around you as you walk.

Looking for a chance to relax? There are multiple picnic areas with open grassy fields where e you can sit and admire the brightly lit trees swaying in the wind.

There are also numerous scenic overlooks. Most of these locations offer expansive views of the countryside. The contrasting colors from the various species of trees slowly changing colors offer a unique look. And I always appreciate the contrast of the ever different shades of colors on the deciduous trees contrasting against the evergreen trees.
