From Land To Water | Northern Water Snake | New York

One species of snake I have been fortunate enough to photograph in the wild is the Northern Water Snake.

I have seen the Northern Water Snake at a variety of locations.

You might see one at a local park. Maybe you will see one in a body of water along the Finger Lakes Trail. There might even be one swimming in one of the Finger Lakes.

I have been able to capture close up headshots. There have been times when I catch full body length images of them swimming in the water. Other times I have seen more than one snake at at time.

Sometimes I am even lucky enough to see the Northern Water Snake slither off land and into the water like the snake in this photo is doing.

Photo details: Nikon D60. Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8. Focal length 70mm. ISO 400. 1/400 sec. f/9.

Thank you for stopping by the blog today. I hope you enjoyed spending a moment with out scaly friends.

I have a gallery of photos where you can see another image of a watersnake.
