One photo a day challenge: Day 190.

This plant became very wilted after our recent heat wave. It looked like it was going to die.

The flower heads all drooped and died off. Then all the leaves turned brown.

I really wasn’t sure it was going to survive.

Then I noticed some new growth. Stems with flower heads began to emerge.

It looked like the flower was resilient after all.

I was happy to see these to blossoms getting ready to unfurl.

I enjoy photographing different stages of growth in plant life. The stage where petals emerge but have not unfolded on a flower blossom is one of my favorite types of images to capture.
