One Photo A Day | Day 54 | Winter Scenery
One photo a day challenge: Day 54.
After a day working in the home office I really wanted to get outside for a little while before sunset. I wanted to go for a hike, but I did not want to spend too much of the fleeting daylight getting there.
I drove down off our hill. Across the river valley. Then drove back up the other side of the valley. I went to one of my favorite places, Tanglewood Nature Center.
I haven’t been there in a while. I had no idea what the trail conditions would be like with all the snow we have gotten this winter.
I strapped on my Kahtoola EXOspikes for traction and set out on the trails.
And this is your friendly reminder to always to always check the battery level on your camera before you head out. I checked mine after my arrival and the battery was almost dead. The icon actually showed the battery with a line through it which generally indicates dead battery. Fortunately there was enough charge left for a few photos using it sparingly.

When I set out the sky was almost completely overcast. I didn’t expect to be able to create any decent images that included sky on this outing. Fortunately the skies had some fast moving clouds across the valley and I was able to create this image.
I was also happy to see an eagle circling and soaring back and forth across the valley.
