I love dogs. It’s no secret. We have shared our lives with many dogs over the yers.

Then there are the times we go out specifically seeking to put more dogs into our lives. One way we do this is by going to dog shows. There are always so many amazing and beautiful dogs there.

I am partial to big dogs. The bigger the dog the more I want to have one. However, having big dogs does not always fit into ones lifestyle. But, we have been fortunate to find space in our lives for some large breed dogs.

But, when I am at a dogs show I am most drawn to the biggest dogs there. One of my favorites are Great Danes.

Great Danes are giants. Gentle Giants, but still giants.

One dog show we attended had probably the most Great Danes I have ever seen in one location. There were 46 Great Danes all competing together in one dog show ring.

It was so cool to see so many Great Danes all in one place.

Great Danes are without a doubt giants but there is still plenty of variety in the size of each individual dogs. Some are thicker and more robust. Some dogs have more slender frames.

Then there are all the varieties of colors Great Danes come in: Black, Black & White, Blue, Brindle, Fawn, Harlequin, Mantle, Merle, White, Silver.

Even with these defined colors and patterns it is impossible to image the variety that can still appear in each individual dog. The colors and patterns and mixtures in the fur are all different and unique.
