My Favorite Portrait Style Photos Of A Person

Every once in a while I will create more conventional portrait style photographs. This usually happens around family gatherings. Events where people are involved in one thing or another and I can be off to the side and point my camera at them without them being so aware of it.
I generally create candid style images. I just like to see how someone is naturally responding to a situation. Life doesn’t happen in a vacuum it is real and raw and we don’t always look our best or have time to prepare for it.

And that is what candid photos have the ability to capture. The realness of life.
There is so much out there that is fake, or false, or misleading. I just want to capture real memories. Instant classics of what life in that moment was really like.
Maybe we will remember the story behind the image, maybe we won’t. But we will know that the image was true.
It might not be the most flattering image or it might be that once in a lifetime image that you can’t get any other way. That image that shows true emotion. Days, weeks, months, years. They all bleed together and are lost to time.

Images. The memories we create in real time. They can last forever. Giving us back what we thought we had lost.
