We all have times when our fires burn hotter than others. Sometimes it is just the embers keeping us warm at night. Other times we are like a raging bonfire.

Right now what is keeping my fire burning is the exploration of new things. Not just in my photography. But I am enjoying reading new books. Especially graphic novels. The art I am finding there has been inspiring.

I am also enjoying creating a different kind of art for me, which is digital art. And I like to play and explore in that medium. It gives me a sense of freedom that I don’t always feel in photography. And that feeling translates into energy to create more art in the form of photography.

I have also really been enjoying seeing other peoples artwork. Getting out and exploring art festivals has been so exciting. See new and different works of art. Different style and mediums.

I have also been exploring new things outside of the arts. I have been exploring new things in my athletic endeavors. New running events and challenges. Different types of training. Exploring how to train differently for a different phase of life. And how to incorporate different forms of training like cycling and strength training that have not really ever been a focus for me before.

All of the new explorations in different facets of life help me spark joy and give me energy to feed off of. And that energy keeps my fire burning.
