Be the family documentarian. I’ve been called the Paparazzi because i take my camera to every family event.

Over the years I have gotten into the habit of taking my camera everywhere I go so I don’t miss out on the opportunity to photograph all the different moments that make up a life. One thing that did for me is allow me to capture a lot of fun memories with family. I never thought I would be taking family photos, but is how it turned out. And I am very glad that I did develop that habit of always having my camera.

I don’t know about you but you never really know what is going to happen when our family is together. So it is nice to have a camera ready to capture all the fun and surprises.

It is really interesting to capture a record of your family over the years. Especially if there are young kids in your family. Going back and looking at the photos over the years is always enjoyable. Seeing all the ways the kids have grown and changed over the years. And seeing all the ways they have stayed the same.

I also just have a terrible memory. So having photographs to look at brings me back to all the fun times we had together as a family. Things that don’t come to mind or that I just don’t remember.

I don’t think you can ever go wrong with taking some time to photograph your family. And it doesn’t just have to be at big family gatherings. It can be sporting events. Or just a day at the park. Or when you are out for a hike. Get the camera out and capture those memories to enjoy later.
