One Photo A Day | Day 24 | Winter Bird
One photo a day challenge: Day 24.
Today I had the opportunity to get back to one of the kinds of photography I really enjoy. The weather was decent. The sunlight was penetrating the cloud cover.
And most importantly, there were birds.

We filled our birdfeeders today. And I sat inside avoiding the cold. Watching the birds come and go from the feeders. I was paying attention to the light. The sun was brighter and clearer than it had been in days.
I decided that the weather was holding and the birds were persisting so it seemed like the perfect time to get outside for some bird photography.
Of course as soon as I made my way outside thicker cloud cover moved in and threatened to blot out the sun. Fortunately the sun was strong enough to penetrate the clouds long enough for me to capture at least a few images.
I only took 43 photos before the sunlight was obscured by too many clouds. There wasn’t enough light to eluminate the birds especially against the graying skies as a background. So I decided to call it a day.
43 photos is one of the smallest amounts of photos I have probably ever taken of my backyard birds in one shoot. But it was enough to capture plenty of images I enjoy. Make the most of the time you have with the subjects you love.
