I have had fun hiking up several mountains over the years. Usually one of the best things about hiking up a mountain is the outstanding views of the surrounding area. Although I have climbed my fair share of mountains that did not have much if any view. But today I am here to talk about my favorite view.
Hiking out to scenic views can be very rewarding. Sometimes it takes a lot of effort. But other times you can take a relatively short walk without to steep of elevation and be rewarded with stunning views.
The funniest part about the place where I saw my favorite scenic mountain views is I didn’t have to take a single step to see the views. I t is a mountain that I have had on my bucket list to hike, but I have not yet had an opportunity to go hike it.
Mount Washington in New Hampshire.
Mount Washington in New Hampshire is one of the tallest peaks on the east coast. The summit is home to the worlds worst weather. And it is a popular hiking destination.
But one of the best things about the mountain is that if you are not able to hike up to the summit you can still enjoy the views. There is a road that you can drive up all the ay to the summit.
This is probably one of my favorite roads I have ever been on. But it can be a little nerve wracking of a drive. The road winds up the mountain and as you drive there are many occasions where you can’t really see the road in front of you from inside of your car. Just take your time as you ease your way up and down the mountain.
The summit is beautiful and when we were there we were fortunate that the weather wasn’t too bad. But the best feature of the visit to Mount Washington is the fact that the road you drive along to get to the summit has many areas where you can pull over and get out of your car. Perfect spots to walk around and enjoy the scenery. Be sure to take you camera because it is beautiful up on this mountain. You can see for miles.
Hopefully the next time I visit Mount Washington it will be to hike to the summit, but I will always remember these views.
