Walk’n Wag: Shelter Dogs And The People That Support Them

Over the years many of our animal companions have come from animal shelters or rescues. Shelters and Rescues make a huge difference in the lives of animals across the country and across the globe.

We would miss out on the amazing connections we have made with animals without these organizations. And the animals. Well, I prefer not to think about what would have become of them without these organizations.
We always try to support these organizations when and where we can. So if there is an event going on locally that features an animal shelter or rescue, we try to attend and do what we can.

One of the most uplifting things to see is all the people and their animal companions that join in at these events. Knowing that there are so many caring human beings around. People who value animals and the work that these organizations do.
The sight of so many people making time to show support for organizations that do this very challenging and demanding work, is uplifting. Work that is both physically and emotionally draining. These organizations give us the most valuable gift. The gift of companionship of animals we would never otherwise connect with.

I love to see people and their animal companions out and about. It is even more special to see all the shelter animals together with their humans. Just knowing that people care enough to show up and acknowledge how much these organization mean to us.

One of our favorite events has been Walk’n Wag that our local shelter used to host at one of our local parks. The turnout was always great to see. And of course seeing all the dogs was fun too.
